For 118 Campbell states (on page 161) 'Quoted for the
metre by Hephaestion.'
For The Appendix Campbell states (on page 463) 'The
beginning of the poem, a narration with lively dialogue between boy (ostensibly
Archilochus himself) and girl (Neobule's sister), may have been on the
following lines: Boy: 'Let's make love.' Girl: 'My mother said not before
marriage.' The papyrus fragment begins in the middle of her speech and
continues to the end of the poem. ... The sexual imagery is interesting;
the language combines epic formaulas with colloquialisms... 'that devine
business' must refer to full sexual intercourse.'
